Programs for Cleaner Air
The Colville Tribes Air Quality Program works with our community to reduce air pollution and protect public health. Below are some of the ways you can get involved or benefit from our current air quality programs.
2025 Wood Stove Replacement Program
We are offering free replacement of older, non-certified wood stoves with EPA-certified, cleaner-burning models. The goal is to reduce harmful smoke in our communities and promote a healthier airshed.
What’s Covered:
No-cost replacement and installation
EPA-certified wood stoves
Support for eligible households
Eligibility:
You must live within the Riverside to Malott area of the Okanogan River Airshed. Please check the full qualifications on the application form.
Is Your Wood Stove EPA Certified?
A major source of PM2.5 pollution in the Okanogan River Airshed comes from older wood stoves. Not sure if yours is certified?
Check out this guide to see if your stove meets current clean air standards.
Host a PurpleAir Sensor
Help us track real-time air quality across the Reservation.
We’re looking for volunteers to host PurpleAir monitors or suggest important places to install one. These small sensors measure air pollution—especially smoke and dust—and send data to public websites where anyone can view local conditions.
Why it matters:
Helps identify air quality trends
Supports community health alerts
Fills monitoring gaps in rural areas
