Brownfields
Environmental Assessment, Cleanup, and Reuse
The Colville Tribes’ Brownfields Tribal Response Program works to assess, clean up, and manage properties that may be impacted by hazardous substances. Through the U.S. EPA Section 128(a) program and the Tribal Hazardous Substances Control Act, the Tribe identifies sites of concern and conducts environmental assessments, sampling, and cleanup planning. This includes addressing former dump areas, chemical spills, and other legacy contamination to ensure responsible land use and transparency. The program helps protect community health and supports the safe reuse of land across the Reservation.
